aSpecial Media's external shareholders have substantial experience in successfully starting up companies which grew into international players. They take an active role in advising the company.

Mr. Leslie Loh – External Shareholder
Leslie is Chairman and CEO of System Access, a banking software organisation he founded in 1983. He played a major role in transforming System Access from a one-man outfit to a publicly-listed global banking software organisation with 10 offices and 500 staff in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The company was acquired in 2006 by SunGard Data Systems INC, USA, a leading global financial services software provider.

His entrepreneurship has won him honours. In 1998, Leslie was awarded the ASME Rotary Entrepreneur of the Year prize. A year later, he received the National Youth Award (Individual).  And in 2006, the Singapore Computer Society singled him out as an IT Leader by naming him  “Person of The Year”.

Leslie is a Partner in Extream Venture, a venture fund targeting early stage technology startups in Singapore. He is also an active “angel” with several direct investments in Asia. He was a board member of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) from 1999 to 2003. He sits on the board member of SPRING Singapore.

Leslie graduated from Saint Mary’s University, Canada, in 1982 with a bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Information Technology.

Mr. Winston Tay – External Shareholder
Winston is Chief Executive and founder of Pulley Ascent Asia, a business development company. It provides integrated marketing programmes, which combines prospects, partners and customers in a demand chain ecosystem across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, he held senior positions in leading regional organisations, such as Webgain, BMC Software and IOM. He was interim CEO of Temasek Capital investment, and under his charge, one of its companies, eG Innvovations, successfully established operations in Singapore, USA and India and now has a list of worldwide clients and partners.

Winston has received several awards and corporate accolades. These include JD Edwards’ Top Business Manager for Asia Pacific, IBM’s Top Partner Sales and Marketing Manager for Singapore VAR, JBA International’s Top World-Wide Sales Award, BMC’s One Hundred Percent Club and President Club Award and the WebGain 100% Club Award.

Mr. Simon Lim – External Shareholder
Simon has spent over 18 years in the IT and telecommunications industry, and played leadership roles in leading IT companies, including Computer Sciences Corporation, Cisco Systems and F5 networks.

Working with top global clients across Asia Pacific region in the late 1990s, Simon helped to craft their Internet business and e-commerce strategy.  These companies later became pioneers and market leaders, extending their multi-million business operations & ERP systems over the Internet to connect suppliers and customers.

He helped build Cisco’s new customer relationship management business, leveraging on the Internet. The solution was the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific, and within two years, he grew the business into a top multi-million dollar franchise in the region. He won multiple Cisco Top Sales and Marketer Awards.

Simon was a regular on the US Dean’s List during his university education. He graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems, and an MBA, from California State University, Hayward, USA.
